"Back to my Scottish roots"

GBP 400.00

24 x 24inch

Acrylic on canvas , sealed with high quality varnish

I stepped away from painting purely landscapes for the first time in a while , and placed myself and the human form within the landscape. After around six months back in Scotland, where I’m from, I’ve found myself reconnecting with my roots in a way I never had before. Spending time away in Australia made me realise so much about the life I want, but being away also gave me a new appreciation for where I come from and for my Scottish heritage. This piece became a meeting point between those two places. Celtic symbols are hidden throughout the painting as little references to my heritage, while the figure represents my own place within these landscapes and the journey between two homes. It feels like a painting about identity, belonging, and carrying different parts of home with you .
